The committees are the core of what we do.
AmCham Cambodia committees are at the core of what we do as an organization and community, and our committees create and drive AmCham’s events, programs, and policy positions. Membership in committees is an important benefit to all AmCham member organizations, and we strongly encourage all members to take full advantage of this. Advocacy has been a key pillar for the Chamber, and we are looking forward to expanding these next years and working more closely with the Royal Government of Cambodia.
What the chamber raises, and where it raises it
Seven committees, each with the remit and the officers its own page publishes. Where a committee gives an account of what it ran, that account is theirs and is dated as they dated it.
Through our advocacy committees, we collect the pressing issues from our Members and raise them to the governments of the United States and the Kingdom of Cambodia.

AmCham works with industry bodies, primarily the Government-Private Sector Working Group D (GPSWG-D) on Law, Tax and Governance, which is one of 13 working groups which was established to serve as a reliable dialogue mechanism for consultation between the Royal Government and the Private Sector on investment climate issues ranging from long range policy to day-to-day operations to encourage private sector initiatives.

Between two and four named officers per committee, with the job and the employer each publishes. Several of them also sit on the Board of Governors, which is what a chamber of this size looks like.
Women’s Committee
The American Chamber of Commerce Women’s Committee organizes events, facilitates networking and mentorship, and engages in a variety of other activities to foster an inclusive environment that supports women-owned and women-run businesses. The committee focuses on the unique business challenges that women face, and is designed to be inclusive of everyone who wants to improve the business environment.
This year, the Women’s Steering Committee will center its efforts around key themes such as Empowering Women in Leadership, Promoting Opportunities in Specific Industries, Community Engagement and Social Responsibility through networking and collaboration, CSR and supporting SME(s), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Sustainability, and Women’s Well-Being (Health and Wellness).
Real Estate and Construction Committee
The Real Estate and Construction Committee serves its members and the real estate industry in developing and promoting programs and services that will enhance the Members’ businesses. The Committee hosts several networking events at various venues across Phnom Penh, bringing together the leaders in the real estate sector and providing a forum where they could meet with each other and exchange ideas. The events were popular with developers, architects, consultants, suppliers, contractors, and others.
In 2022, the Committee hosted six networking evenings all over the city, drawing an average of 80-100 participants for each event, and they also organized a lecture by OCIC talking about the new airport.
Education Committee
The Education Committee which gathers individuals from different organizations and institutions who have an interest in education-related matters. This Committee is designed to be friendly, helpful, and supportive, where Members can exchange information and ideas, and can discuss pressing matters relating to education.
This year, the Committee hosted notable events, including Best Practice in Online Professional Education, a workshop on Studying in the USA, a networking evening, and Best Practice in English Language Learning. In order to involve as many people as possible, the Committee hosts monthly virtual meetings and invites all those interested in education to join; every month the Committee welcomes 20-30 attendees from schools, NGOs, universities, and the private sector.
ICT Committee
The ICT Committee fosters the development of a vibrant and sustainable ICT ecosystem in Cambodia that promotes investment in technology, innovative solutions, and delivers best practice through advocacy and education. We support and develop Cambodia’s growing ICT industry across all sectors. Our team aims to inspire, educate, and engage with businesses and government.
In 2022, the Committee hosted three Tech Tuesdays or “Demo Days” where entrepreneurs showcased their digital apps to the audience, and admission is free which brought over 100 young participants. The Committee also hosted a sector lunch to discuss the most important issues facing the industry today.
Law Committee
The Law Committee was founded in late 2022 due to demand from our Members. The Law Committee’s goals are to create a platform for legal professionals in Cambodia to 1. support the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia network on legal issues and related areas 2. advocate for members regarding legislation and regulations of concern to the members of the American Chamber of Commerce, Cambodia 3. improve the professional network and capacity of our members and 4. recognize and share the great work of our colleagues with members and the community.
Tax Committee
Tax is one of the most important issues to all our members, whether they are multinationals or local SMEs, and the Tax Committee works to bring together stakeholders and address these matters in the most appropriate manner. The Committee seeks to assist members in understanding tax, accounting, and audit regulations and disseminate information on new regulations on tax, accounting, and auditing.
In 2022, AmCham’s Tax Committee organized a webinar on IRS Tax Filing and FATCA obligations for U.S. citizens in Cambodia, an event on Tax and Trusts, and a Tax Forum on updates and audits which boasted 300 participants.
International Trade, Customs, and Logistics Committee
The International Trade, Customs, and Logistics Committee is established to enhance the trade environment in Cambodia, promote efficient customs procedures, and improve logistics infrastructure for the benefit of AmCham members. The Committee’s activities will support AmCham’s mission to promote American business, advocate for a favorable business climate, and foster economic growth in Cambodia.
